RIYADH: The Saudi Professional League will hold a meeting to discuss the possible return of the competition next August while maintaining precautionary measures to avoid coronavirus spread. 

A statement released Tuesday said it will discuss 鈥渙ver the next two days during an urgent meeting鈥� the potential return of the football league 鈥渨hile considering the best possible options that are appropriate to the current situation.鈥�

It set Aug. 20 as an initial date for the league's return.

It also said possible scenarios will be considered in case the resumption was not possible on the suggested date.
